While Hikage Lodge enjoys one of the most coveted ski-in/ski-out locations in Nozawa Onsen, it’s important to note that access to the village relies on the Yu Road moving walkway, which operates daily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Outside these hours, access to and from the village involves a snow-covered path that is not heated. Though the gradient is gentle to moderate, the walk—particularly the return uphill—is not recommended for young children or elderly guests. This walk will also be more challenging in heavy snow and at night.
We kindly ask all guests to plan their village visits accordingly. For those requiring assistance outside Yu Road operating hours, please speak with the Lodge Manager. While village pick-up may be possible, it is not guaranteed and is offered solely at the Manager’s discretion.
